What does the Bible say about anxiety, depression, mental health, and suicide?
CHARLES SPURGEON
The mind can descend far lower than the body, for in it there are bottomless pits. The flesh can bear only a certain number of wounds and no more, but the soul can bleed in ten thousand ways, and die over and over again each hour.
ANXIETY
The fixation/worry on circumstances that leads to feeling overwhelmed and paralyzed.
DEPRESSION
A deep sense of loss, numbness, lack of interest and motivation for things in daily life. It can be caused by events or circumstances, or as a result of chemical imbalances in the body or as a result of mental illness.
SYMPTOMS
• Feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness, or hopelessness
• Angry outbursts, irritability or frustration, especially over small matters
• Loss of interest or pleasure in most or all normal activities (sex, hobbies, sports)
• Insomnia, tiredness, lack of energy, reduced appetite or increased craving for food
• Feelings of worthlessness or guilt, fixation on past failures, blame for things others do
• Trouble thinking, concentrating, making decisions, or remembering things
• Frequent or recurrent mention of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT.
REST IN GOD’S PROMISES.

The Roadmap

What is The Roadmap? The Roadmap is an online tool that helps clarify how to live and love like Jesus. We do this by being with Godbeing with others, and being sent.  Each of these expressions is rooted in the teaching of Scripture and in the life of Jesus.  We recognize there are steps we can take to grow in and respond to the work of God in our lives and to help us live and love like Him. The Roadmap will equip you for this journey through clear action steps and helpful resources. We invite you to join us!
