If the faith that receives the gift of the righteousness of God could speak, what would that faith say? Faith would say what faith has said all along, that you can’t earn righteousness, deserve righteousness, gain righteousness through anything that you do. Our sin has undone our every attempt at righteousness. Faith would say that Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, did what was necessary to provide a way to give the gift of His righteousness to everyone who believes in Him as Lord and Savior. Faith would also say that the trust in Jesus which comes from the heart will also come out of the believer’s life. Any other kind of belief in any other kind of way to any other attempt at righteousness will not work at all. The only way to end this life without the shame of all our sin is through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Everyone who puts their faith in Jesus will be saved once and for all eternity.
