Worship Gathering - Know-It-All #2
Focus this Sunday:
We continue our sermon series called Know It All: What Happens When You Don't. Sometimes in life we come into a situation when we thought we knew it all... and then we discover that we don't. In our four-week series, we will meet four individuals in the Bible who felt like they knew it all. We will discover how our attitudes in those cases will either work against us or cause us to move closer to Christ.
Last week we looked at the "innocent" know it alls... who thought they knew but found out they didn't. We were encouraged to take a good look at Jesus in the gospels and analyze our beliefs to make sure they are correct. I hope you spent some time in God's Word this last week!
This week we will go to the other extreme and look at the Pharisees. They stood for purity and yet ended up on the wrong side of truth. It's an interesting paradox. What might God be saying to us?
This Sunday is also Communion Sunday. We will be partaking in the Lord's Supper early on in the service, so make sure to pick up your elements on the way into the sanctuary. If you are online, be prepared for this. We will also have another Summer Camp Report.
Join us Sunday at 10:30am either onsite or online! The link to the online service is on our website at (www.emmettnaz.org) and click on the Link to the Service.
Reflection Questions: (Privately or invite a few friends to discuss!)
1. What is one thing that stood out to you from this week’s message?
2. Who are the oppressed people we know? Who is oppressing them?
3. Why are know-it-alls so hard to be around? What makes them that way?
4. Is the Bible written for us to find support for our convictions or to shape us?
5. How can we pray for you?
