Church Center Portal and App

We are integrating a new communication system so we all can stay connected in simple ways. For most of us this simply means that there will a different portal we use for registrations, giving, and groups. Right now, the first step is to download the Church Center App on your phone or click on the “My Portal” link at the top right hand of any page on our website. From there you can create or confirm your profile. Questions??? Please contact Celena Hosford our Business Manager or the Church Office.

Pathfinders Study of the Psalms

Pathfinders Psalms Summer Bible Study begins Sunday, June 12 following our 9:00 worship service, meeting on Room 302. We will focus on the ORIGIN of the Psalms, then look at Psalms that AFFIRM, or ASK FOR God’s care and protection. We’ll examine these scriptures to identify which ones appeal to us for reading, meditation or prayer. For more information, contact Traci Anthony or Paul Vash.

How do we fit into the Christian Narrative?

Colossians 1:15-20

John 1:1-5

Mark 1:15

The LCMS Youth Gathering in Houston has the theme "In All Things" and the theme verse is Colossians 1: 15-20. They will be looking at 5 themes that are the main points of the Christian Narrative. They are: Christ CREATES all things, Christ RECONCILES all things, Christ TRANSFORMS all things, Christ REIGNS over all things and Christ will RETURN.

In Colossians 1: 15-20 Paul seems to be addressing the heresy that was creaping into the Church at Colossae that questioned Jesus as God who acts in al things. Even thuogh the names and language of the world the Colossian Believers lived in was different from our world today, the attempts of their world to influence their beliefs is not that different from what our world does today.
Jesus is in all things, even those things that don't make sense. So how do we fit into the Christian Narrative? We ALL fit into that narrative and ALL OF EACH OF US fits into that narrative.
Next time you find yourself in a situation that doesn't make sense (as in the life of Joseph in the old testament), rather than getting down, depressed or angry at God and trying to convince Him to do it your way, Remember that we ALL fit into the Christian Narrative and ALL ASPECTS OF EACH OF US fits into that narrative. Yield your will to God and be curious as to what He might be doing in and through you and the situation to accomplish His will.
