HYMN
O Worship the King #73

1. O worship the King, all glorious above,
O gratefully sing God's power and God's love;
our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.

2. O tell of God's might, O sing of God's grace,
whose robe is the light, whose canopy space,
whose chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
and dark is God's path on the wings of the storm.

3. The earth with its store of wonders untold,
Almighty, thy power hath founded of old;
hath stablished it fast by a changeless decree,
and round it hath cast, like a mantle, the sea.

4. Thy bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light;
it streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,
and sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.

5. Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
in thee do we trust, nor find thee to fail;
thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end,
our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend.
CALL TO WORSHIP | Jim Carman

L: Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
C: Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and sustain in me a willing spirit.
L: O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise. For You have no delight in sacrifice; if I were to give a burnt offering, You would not be pleased.
C: The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.
ALL: O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise!

(Adapted from selected verses of the Psalm 51)
HYMN
Holy, Holy, Holy #64

1. Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

2. Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
which wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.

3. Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see,
only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
perfect in power, in love and purity.

4. Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity.
UNISON PRAYER | Bill Baker

God of love, grace, and mercy,

We are thankful for the salvation You have given us through Jesus Christ. We are also grateful for the gift of Your Holy Spirit that dwells within each of us. Help us to always seek the will of Your Spirt and give us the ability and courage to follow it.

Send forth that same Spirit to dwell among us this morning. Receive, we humbly pray, our offering of praise, worship, and thanksgiving. It is in the name of the living Christ Jesus we pray. Amen.
HYMN
“God of the Ages” #698

1. God of the ages, whose almighty hand
leads forth in beauty all the starry band
of shining worlds in splendor through the skies,
our grateful songs before thy throne arise.

2. Thy love divine hath led us in the past;
in this free land with thee our lot is cast;
be thou our ruler, guardian, guide, and stay,
thy Word our law, thy paths our chosen way.

3. From war's alarms, from deadly pestilence,
be thy strong arm our ever sure defense;
thy true religion in our hearts increase;
thy bounteous goodness nourish us in peace.

4. Refresh thy people on their toilsome way;
lead us from night to never-ending day;
fill all our lives with love and grace divine,
and glory, laud, and praise be ever thine.
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE | Bill Baker

Breakthrough Prayer: Word of God, blowing among the crowds at Pentecost, sweeping across generations to claim us, may we be born anew by Your Holy Spirit. Speak to us amid our earthly journey so we may live, not for ourselves, but for the whole human family in Huber Heights. Send us as messengers of Good News and bearers of Your peace.

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
