The Testing Season | Psalm 11

A. Your Testing Testifies to Who You Are.

1. You are tested so that you can make a choice.

Psalms 11:1-3

2. You are tested so that you do not lack anything.

Psalms 11:4

James 1:2-4

B. Your Testing Testifies to Who God Is.

1. God is our refuge.

Psalms 11:1

2. God's concern is for the oppressed.

Psalms 11:7

3. God's justice is for the oppressor.

Psalms 11:6

4. God is always faithful.

1 Corinthians 10:13

C. Your Testing Testifies to Who Others Can Be.

Psalms 11:5

1. The wicked are also tested.

2. The world judges Christianity by what they see in you.

1 Peter 2:12

3. In all actions toward the world, we need to be wise.

Colossians 4:5-6

D. Am I Being Tested?

1. The feeling of being inadequate
What vision has God laid on your heart for which you find yourself inadequate?

2. The feeling of irritation
Are you feeling stuck, restless, or annoyed? That is a good place to be.

3. The feeling of inspiration

“Without fire, there’s no refining. Without pain, no relief. Without flood, there’s no rescue. Without testing no belief.” (Gaither and Sykes.)

1 Peter 1:6-9

Bottom Line: Your testing testifies.
