Freedom is not just being released from something; freedom is being liberated for something.
The purpose for which Jesus has set you free is to live in freedom.
The Gospel is that God sent Jesus to rescue us from our sin and from this present evil age.
The true Gospel is faith + nothing = salvation
The Gospel is not that God saves all good people; the Gospel is that God saves bad, sinful people who accept the rescue of Jesus.
We must never mix-up the implications of the gospel with the gospel itself.
The power to live the life Jesus died for comes from believing that it’s all been done for us.
Jesus has set you free to live in the truth that Jesus plus nothing else is what frees you from sin and frees you to live a life in Jesus.
