Mission Hills Church
When The River Runs Dry | Audience of One
Have you ever felt like God led you somewhere only to be disappointed by how things turned out once you got there? Why does the God who makes the rains fall and the rivers flow…sometimes let those same rivers run dry? Join us as we learn how - and why - to trust God even when our circumstances aren’t what we expected.

Mission Hills is a church family—a family who wants to extend to you the same love, hope, and joy that we have received. We know that we cannot be all things to all people. But we do want to be one thing to all people. We want to be the place where anyone, of any age, of any level of spiritual maturity, of any economic class, of any ethnicity, of any church background—or no church background—can meet God in a way that transforms their life…forever!

If you are a first time guest, we would love to meet you! Stop by the Welcome Center for a free gift.
Idol: Anything that begins to function as a substitute for God in our life.
"The greatest danger...is not that we become atheist, but that we ask God to co-exist with idols in our hearts.” -Tim Keller
“Worship”: Giving ultimate worth or value to someone or something.
“Love the Lord your God, with ALL your heart, soul and with ALL your strength” – Deuteronomy 6:5
DIVIDED Worship: Choosing between the living God or counterfeit gods (v.21-24)
The world says show me and then I’ll trust...God says trust me and I’ll show you.
DECEPTIVE Idols: Counterfeits don’t ultimately deliver what they promise
(v.25-29)
Idols are silent but they still speak (v.26)
Idols are powerless, but still strong (v.27)
Idols are deadly, but still promise life (v.28)
Daily Surrender: Believe that God is supreme and worthy of my continual submission (1 Kings 18:30-39)
Following Jesus changes everything.
Living FOR God’s approval is birthed out of fear.
Living FROM God’s approval is birthed out of freedom.
