June 5th - Outdoor Service PLUS Affinity & Ministry Fair
Weather permitting, we will have an outdoor service and baptisms at 10 a.m. After the service, we will have our next Affinity & Ministry Fair. Come check out the different groups, ask questions, meet the leaders and sign up for any you want to join.

June 14th - River 101
Interested in learning more about The River Church? Pastor Brad will be teaching our River 101 class on Tuesday, June 14th, from 6:15 - 8:30 p.m. here at The River Church. If you are interested in membership, the class is a prerequisite. Register at HitTheRiver.com/events

November 29th - December 6th - Trip to the Holy Land
Join Pastor Brad and Heidi on a trip to the Holy Land! Open to couples and singles, with marriage seminars three evenings taught by Brad & Heidi. Brochures are available outside the Worship Center.

River Kids Events

June 11th - Family Water Day 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Bring your kids and family out to The River on June 11 for a Family Water Day! Join us from 1-3 PM as we beat the heat with a giant water slide, shaved ice, water games, and more! Have some summer fun as a family and connect with other families at The River and in our community.

July 18 - 22nd - VBS Destination Dig - Registration is OPEN!
You can register your kids by going to hittheriver.com/events! We are also looking for dedicated adults to spend a week with The River Kids and their peers from the community during Vacation Bible School. Volunteers will receive a free VBS t-shirt to wear during the week. Plus, if you sign up to register before May 18th you will be entered to win a Chick-fil-a gift card! Email Taylor@HitTheRiver.com to get set up to register for volunteering.

Deconstruction (Alisa Childers)

The systematic dismantling of the core beliefs you grew up with and they are discarded—many deconstruct all the way to atheism or agnosticism, or progressive Christianity.

By calling ourselves progressive Christians we mean that we are Christians who…

1. Believe that following the path and teachings of Jesus can lead to an awareness and experience of the sacred and the oneness and unity of all life.

2. Affirm that the teachings of Jesus provide but one of many ways to experience the sacredness and oneness of life, and that we can draw from diverse sources of wisdom in our spiritual journey.

3. Seek community that is inclusive of ALL people, including but not limited to:

•Conventional Christians And questioning skeptics
•Believers and agnostics
•Women and men
•Those of all sexual orientation and gender identities
Those of all classes and abilities

4. Know that the way we behave towards one another is the fullest expression of what we believe

5. Find Grace in the search for understanding and believe there is more value in questioning than in absolutes.

6. Strive for peace and justice among all people.

7. Strive to protect and restore the integrity of our earth; and

8. Commit to a path of lifelong learning, compassion, and selfless love.
