Big Idea: Jesus is the eternal Son who makes the Father known.
Through creation, coming as the the true light who gives the right to new birth, and becoming flesh to show the glory of grace and truth.

God is, at his essence, love.

God is, at his essence, truth.

God is, at his essence, Spirit.

God is, at his essence, One.

1. Jesus the eternal Son (vs. 1-2)

2. The eternal Son makes the Father known through submission and creation (vs. 3-5)

3. The eternal Son makes the Father known by becoming flesh (vs. 6-14)

a. He takes on human flesh.

b. He is empowered by the Holy Spirit.

c. He is obedient to the Father.

d. He dies in our place.
