What should life look like?

Genesis 1:1-31

Everything was as it should be.
“Everything was now, as it shouldn’t be.

They couldn’t live the way they should.

The world didn’t work the way it should.

Their life didn’t keep going the way it should.
Eternal life was not intended for people when they aren’t as they should be.

Genesis 3:22

John 3:16

Right now we live in this tension: Everything isn't as it should be, but someday everything will be as God intended it to be, through Christ.

Revelation 21:5

Key Question: Do we just have to wait until we die, to experience “Life as it should be?”
If our temporary lives right now look nothing like our eternal lives with God, then most likely we’ll want nothing to do with eternal life, and nothing to do with God.

John 3:17-21

Devotion & Delight

Series Thesis: It’s impossible to be delighted in and devoted to someone, who you doubt is delighted in and devoted to you.
Devotion without delight is misery.

Delight without devotion is hypocrisy.
Delight: “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son…”
Devotion:“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
God is far more devoted to you, than you are to you.

God is far more delighted in you, than you are in you.
We can experience some of life “As It Should Be” when we realize:

In Christ: God is delighted in you.

In Christ: God is devoted to you.
Devotion without delight is misery.

Delight without devotion is hypocrisy.
Delight: “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son…”
God is far more devoted to you, than you are to you.

God is far more delighted in you, than you are in you.
We can experience some of life “As It Should Be” when we realize:

In Christ: God is delighted in you.

In Christ: God is devoted to you.
