North Platte Berean Church
Hold Fast & Draw Near
Christianity has a long history of being misunderstood, even by Christians! It's all too easy to make it about Jesus PLUS something (good works, moral living, religious activities, emotional experience…). But the book of Hebrews claims that when we add anything to Jesus, we're actually subtracting. It holds up Jesus Christ – fully God, fully human – as the promised Deliverer. He is the One who, alone, saves us from our sinfulness and restores our relationships with God, others, and creation. Its message, the message of Christianity, is really quite simple: Jesus Christ is enough!

Talk It Over
Visit npberean.org/grow-groups for more resources or to connect.
• Treasuring God: Is there anything you are ashamed to talk to God about? What does it mean that Jesus can sympathize with us? How does that impact our shame?
• Being Transformed: When we are in times of weakness, what does it look like to “hold fast” to our faith? What does it look like to “draw near the throne of grace?”
• Loving Others: What relief does having a God whose is able to sympathize with our struggles bring? How does this truth impact those who are living without that comfort?
• Pursuing Unity: Hebrews 4:15-16 shows the unmerited grace Christ gives us despite our failures. How does that change the way you view and forgive those who have wronged you?

Next Week's Sermon
Next week we'll be looking at perhaps one of the most debated passages in the entire NT. Much discussion has revolved around the question of "Can a person lose their salvation?" If you've ever read this section and wondered that, then this is a week you won't want to miss.
