North Platte Berean Church
Wait! What?
Christianity has a long history of being misunderstood, even by Christians! It's all too easy to make it about Jesus PLUS something (good works, moral living, religious activities, emotional experience…). But the book of Hebrews claims that when we add anything to Jesus, we're actually subtracting. It holds up Jesus Christ – fully God, fully human – as the promised Deliverer. He is the One who, alone, saves us from our sinfulness and restores our relationships with God, others, and creation. Its message, the message of Christianity, is really quite simple: Jesus Christ is enough!

• Treasuring God: What does your life look like when you are not experiencing the rest of God? What helps move your heart to that rest (e.g. prayer, journaling, music, etc.)?
• Being Transformed: What does your life look like when you are living in the rest God gives? (e.g. What routines or habits do you have? How do you behave/react to life?)
• Loving Others: Why is this idea of striving for rest so helpful to our culture today? Who is someone (coworker, friend, neighbor, etc.) who needs to hear about this rest?
• Pursuing Unity: Who are those around you who know and walk with you closely enough to tell when you are struggling to strive for God?

Next Week's Sermon
How do we love those who are sometimes the hardest to love? Mother’s Day can be such an amazing day to honor those who have loved us our whole lives and then some, but for some it can be a day mixed with hard emotions. Join us next week as we look at Ephesians 6:1-3 and what it looks like to honor the mothers who are worthy of honor and the mothers who are not.
