Mission Hills Church
More | The Value of Humility
Purpose doesn’t come from changing your circumstances or your stuff. It comes when the empty tomb changes your perspective. Whether you’re at the top of your game or feel like you’ve hit rock bottom, Jesus offers you a life of more hope, more meaning, and more joy.

Mission Hills is a church family—a family who wants to extend to you the same love, hope, and joy that we have received. We know that we cannot be all things to all people. But we do want to be one thing to all people. We want to be the place where anyone, of any age, of any level of spiritual maturity, of any economic class, of any ethnicity, of any church background—or no church background—can meet God in a way that transforms their life…forever!

If you are a first time guest, we would love to meet you! Stop by the Welcome Center for a free gift.
Humility is the key to all the more we're looking for.
Humility isn't thinking less of ourselves, it's thinking of ourselves less.
When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" (John 21:15a)
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. (Pro 16:18).
Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor. (Prov. 18:12).

Without humility, more honor just causes more harm.
"Yes/Truly, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." (John 21:15b)
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” (John 21:15b)
Humility comes before honor so it doesn't do more harm.
The promise: Jesus will never give up on you.

The principle: humility comes before forgiveness.
1. To receive forgiveness, we have to admit we need it.
2. To receive forgiveness, we have to ask for it.
3. To receive forgiveness, we have to accept it.
Without humility, we're always going to be hungry.
What are you most hungry for and how is a lack of humility keeping your from receiving it?
Humility is the key to all the more we're looking for.
Comparison is the enemy of humility.
Humility allows us to receive from God all the more He created us for.
What's my next step forward in humility?
// Start praying
// Stop comparing
// Start serving
