A. The women went to the tomb to tend to the body of Jesus - v. 1

B. They were the first to discover the empty tomb - v. 2-3

C. Although they did not remember Jesus’ words the Jewish leaders had - Matthew 27:62-66

II. The Angels - Luke 24:4-7

A. Jesus’ followers were filled with grief; they should have been looking for hope! - v. 4-5

B. Jesus had predicted His resurrection - Luke 9:22, 18:31-34

III. The Astonishment - Luke 24:8-12

A. They remembered His Words - v. 8, John 14:26

B. Although they did not believe Peter and John went a saw for themselves - v. 11-12, John 20:3-10

IV. The Application -

A. The resurrection shows Jesus to be the Son of God - Romans 1:4

B. The resurrection of Jesus makes us right with God - Romans 4:24-25

C. The resurrection of Jesus gives us new life - Romans 6:4

D. The resurrection shows Jesus will judge all men - Acts 17:30-31, Romans 10:13
