“Doubt is not a pleasant condition,” the 18th century philosopher Voltaire wrote, “but certainty is absurd.” Based on the closing verses of First John, it appears the Apostle John would disagree! In 1 John 5:13-21, John concludes his letter by focusing on five things Christians know with certainty because of their faith in Jesus.
