The spirit evident at the triumphal entry evidenced by the singing of “Hallelujah” was all but gone by the end of the week as the crowds on that day sang “Crucify him.”

However, the plan was all there in plain sight for anyone who had eyes to see and ears to hear that:

Jesus….

1. Can be trusted
“So those who were sent departed and found it as he had told them.”
Knowledge
Ability
Caring

2. to bring peace
a. Jesus is not calling the followers to take up arms but lay down their possessions.
b. Meek, Gentle, Humble, Servant are the keys to the peace Jesus brings.
c. The Christian leader of the future is called to be completely irrelevant and to stand in this world with nothing to offer but his or her own vulnerable self. - quote from In the Name of Jesus by Henri Nouwen

3. through the gifts of his people.
“The Lord needs it” is the invitation to participate in bringing peace.

Jesus was not the Messiah that the Pharisees, Judas, or the Older Brother wanted, but Jesus is the one they needed.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

Blessed are they who have ears to hear, eyes to see,
and hearts courageous to follow what is in plain sight.
