Needing the Resurrection

Death. It seems so final. So unpredictable. So inevitable. We don’t like to consider it, but eventually every one of us, and everyone we love, dies. And we’re left with the grief, the agony, of this loss, this curse, this enemy. But then…there’s Jesus. He lived a perfect life – no sin. Yet on the cross, he willingly died the death for sin – our sin. His broken body lay in the tomb, lifeless. Until the third day. The day when God’s resurrection power restored Jesus’ life to Him! On that Resurrection Day, Jesus broke death’s grip – dealt a death blow to death itself. So now, for all who will believe in Him, we can share in His resurrection life. Praise be to Jesus!

Talk It Over

Visit npberean.org/grow-groups for more resources or to connect.

Treasuring God: Why does the resurrection matter? What would it mean if Christ died and was not raised from the dead?

Being Transformed: Where does the truth of the resurrection impact our day-to-day? What area of your life does it give you strength / encouragement to face?

Loving Others: Who is someone you need to share this truth with? How can you love them better knowing Christ gave it all for you?

Pursuing Unity: Are there other Christians you know who need to be reminded of the hope and power of the resurrection? How can we encourage others who are struggling with this truth?

Next Week's Sermon

All of our Christian faith hangs upon the resurrection - we need it desperately. But are we left to wishfully hope it's a reality? Do we need to check our rational minds at the door in order to "blindly believe?" Is there compelling evidence for Christ's resurrection? This is what we'll explore next week!
