"Nine-tenths of the difficulties are overcome when our hearts are ready to do the Lord's will, whatever it may be. When one is truly in this state, it is usually but a little way to the knowledge of what His will is."

How to recognize a prompting:
A. Make sure that your prompting agrees with scripture.
B. Make sure it agrees with God’s character and the nature.
C. Make sure it agrees with your conscience.

"Of course you could be wrong. God doesn’t intend to make us infallible by his conversational walk with us, but you are usually correct." In other words, don’t minimize, don’t rationalize, don’t compromise."

“Perhaps the rough distinction is this: the voice of the subconscious argues with you, tries to convince you; but the inner voice of God does not argue, does not try to convince you. It just speaks and it is self-authenticating. It has the feel of the voice of God within it.”
