Ministry needs the marriage of Excellence and Anointing. Work like it depends on you, pray like it depends on God.
(Mark Batterson)
Worship need the marriage of Purpose and Presence
Priestly Duties...

* Carry His Presence
1 Corinthians 6:19-20, “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
Priestly Duties...

* Carry His Presence

* Bless the People
Berakah - the transmittal or endowment of the power of God’s goodness and favor, usually through the spoken word and often with the accompanying act of laying on hands.

“The Hebrews believed that the spoken word carried great power for good or evil. Most ancient peoples were convinced, as the Hebrews were, that words once spoken take a life of their own. So when a word of blessing was given, the speaker could not retract it.”
(Rolf Garborg, The Family Blessing)

The Tabernacle: A Journey of Worship

The tabernacle is all about access…
Mishkan = Dwelling

“Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you. (Exodus 25:8-9)
God is a God of process and order…

“We treat process with disdain in the church all the time - sometimes for the sake of convenience, sometimes for the sake of tradition, sometimes out of ignorance, foolishness or pride. God is gracious. He covers us. But a wise person learns from such situations and honors the gift of life by submitting to the ways of the savior.”
Neese, How to Worship a King, p.276
Mosaic Tabernacle - Outlined Christ’s Plan of Redemption…Full of Symbolism

Davidic Tabernacle - Began to use singing and instruments…Marked with rejoicing and celebration
The Gate…
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his[a]; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100:1-5)
Altar of Sacrifice
They never came empty handed…

Psalm 51:17 - The sacrifice that is pleasing to Lord is a broken and humble heart.

“If the Cross proves how much we are worth to God, our worship proves how much God is worth to us.” - Zach Neese

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1)
Brazen Laver

The brazen laver represents the continual washing and cleansing that comes from the Word of God…

“make holy…by washing with water through the word” (Ephesians 5:26)

“...without holiness no one will see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14)

Washing in the Word daily prepares our hands and heart to minister and hear from the Lord…

19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:19-23)
Golden Altar of Incense

Represents prayers rising to God…
Where God Speaks to His people…
