ONE*

Our world had Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, and Steve Jobs; now we have no Jobs, no Cash, and no Hope.

If He was going to save us, He would have to become like us.

1. The lust of the flesh.
2. The pride of life.
3. The lust of the eyes.

Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus.

1. Jesus would destroy the devil’s power and free those who were held in slavery by their fear of death.

· Only as a human being could he die.

· Only by dying could He break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.

· Only in this way could He set free all who have lived as slaves to the fear of dying.

2. He would become our High Priest and the substitutional sacrifice for our sins.

· It was the only way He could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God.

· Then and only then, could He offer a sacrifice that would “forever” take away our sins.

3. Through His humanity He would be able to sympathize and associate with our weaknesses.
