Friendship Community Baptist

Sunday Service 3/20/2022
This Sunday, pastor Robert talks to us about the different responses we will receive as we begin to share our faith with others.
Locations & Times
Friendship Community Baptist
37 Jewell Rd, Dunkirk, MD 20754, USA
Sunday 9:00 AM
Sunday 10:30 AM
Main Point: Over time, individuals respond differently to the Gospel
Teaching
The seed fell among four soils
Path: no understanding—devoured by birds
Rocky ground: received with joy but no root—withered away
Thorns: hears but choked out by cares/riches—unfruitful
Good soil: hears, understands—bears fruit
Observations
The difference is the soil, not the seed
Time and adversity reveal the quality of the soil
Fruitfulness is based on understanding Pro 2:2-3

Application
Outward: Our responsibility is to share the gospel (cast the seed)
We will encounter all four soils Acts 17:32; 2Ti 4:10-11
Remember our goal is discipleship, not decisions Mat 28:19-20
Inward: We should evaluate and work the soil of our heart
Hard: Does God’s word bounce off our heart?
Rocky: How deeply rooted is the gospel in your soul?
Remember droughts expose the depths of our roots
Thorny: Is the world winning the war for your soul?
Does the world have a grip on your heart?
Does money have a grip on your heart?
Good: is your heart receptive to the gospel of Jesus?
