MONDAY: The Great Commandment
Reading: Matthew 22:36-40

TUESDAY: The Great Commandment
Reading: Romans 13:8-10
Prayer: Jesus, let Your love flow through me in my community, to my neighbor, and with all whom I may encounter today. Thank You for Your love for me, and may that flow out from my heart to the hurting and lost around me.

WEDNESDAY: The Great Commandment
Reading: Galatians 5:13-14
Prayer: Lord, the command to love my neighbor wasn't a passing thought, but a foundational idea to build my faith upon. Let my commitment to You be reflected in the earnestness of my love for others. Forgive me for moments when I've been focused so much on myself that I've missed opportunities around me to love well. I love You, Lord!

THURSDAY: The Great Commandment
Reading: James 2:1-9
Prayer: Lord, I recognize in my own life that it is easier to respond to people who look like me and are familiar. Forgive me and show me areas of preference, bias and prejudice and cleanse me from my sin. Help me to love my neighbors with the same measure that I would like for myself. I need Your grace today.

FRIDAY: The Great Commandment
Reading: Leviticus 19:33-34
Prayer: Even in this season, Jesus, of increased refugees and much heartache, help me to love those who have come and those that are yet far away. Let my heart be filled with Your love and generosity that I might embrace those in need and care for them as I would my own family. I love You, Lord!

SATURDAY: The Great Commandment
Reading: Luke 10:25-37
Prayer: Jesus, clearly Your heart extends not only to my actual neighbor, but You broadened the scope by including the marginalized, the hurting, the foreigner, and all who are in need of Your touch. Help me to have a broader perspective and help me to love my neighbors—near and far—with passion, grace, generosity, and kindness. Give through me as I yeild my resources to You for Your glory!
