DON'T GO THERE . . .
* What is keeping me connected to Jesus' life?
* Where do I need to repent for spiritual drift?
* What is keeping me connected to Jesus' life?
* Where do I need to repent for spiritual drift?
Frank Bartleman, Azusa Street
“I received early in 1905 the following keynote to revival: 'The depth of revival will be determined exactly by the depth of the spirit of repentance.' And this will hold true for all people, at all times.”

* LAMENT: Grieve in an emotionally and spiritually healthy way
* SEEK: Beyond “Why?” ask “Where?”
* TRUST: Stubbornly hold the ground of faith

Michael Card, A Sacred Sorrow
“We see in Job one of the most fundamental lessons we will learn from lament: that the act of lamenting, protesting, and even accusing God through the prayer of protest is still an act of faith. Far from denying the existence of God, the lament of faith cries out on the basis of an appeal to the living God’s loving-kindness, in spite of the fact that the present conditions would suggest otherwise.
“In Job we discover a person who will simply not let go of God in spite of death, disease, isolation from friends and family, and ultimately a perceived abandonment by God. Those around him, including his own wife, plead for him to let go and die. But Job, like Jacob, faithfully holds on in the wrestling match of his life.”
