CELEBRATION OR DREAD - Romans 2:12-16
When someone says, “I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news- which do you want to hear first,” what is your response? In Romans 1-3, Paul gives us the bad news first. But the good news is implicit even as we read about the coming judgment of God against our sin.

I. God judges everyone fairly- and that is terrifying
• Those who don’t have the law will perish
• Those who have the law are guilty
• Only those who do what the law says are right with God- but no one does!
• Those who don’t know about the law are still guilty because they know enough
• God judges fairly based on seeing everything about us- so we are in trouble
II. Jesus kept the Law- and that is amazing
III. God is fair to count Jesus’ sacrifice against your debt- and that is reason to celebrate
• Trust Jesus
• Worship Jesus
Bottom Line: if we celebrate the righteousness Jesus earned, we don’t need to dread the judgment we deserve
