Sunday 10:45 AM

In this passage of God’s Word, we see Jesus continuing His Journey towards Jerusalem. As He does, He encounters a tax collector named Zacchaeus. This is a familiar story to many who grew up in the church. By taking a close look at it again though, we can see what God teaches us through this story:

1. When God acts, be faithful
Luke 19:1-4, Heb. 10:23, Matt. 25:21, 2 Tim. 4:7-8

2. We need to admit our need for God
Luke 19:5-8, Rom. 3:23, 6:23, John 14:6

3. Jesus offers salvation to everyone
Luke 19:9-10, John 3:16, 2 Pet. 3:9, 1 Tim. 2:4
Reflection Questions

1. Were you familiar with the story of Zacchaeus before? Was there anything that stood out this time that hasn’t before? If so, what? If you weren’t previously familiar with this story, what stood out the most to you? Why?

2. How do you think it would change your relationship with God if you constantly were reminded of your need for a Savior? How can you better remind yourself of your need for Jesus?

3. What is God doing in your life during this season, and how can you respond the most faithful way possible? Who can you talk with and ask to be held accountable to that?

Groups

We believe that our faith grows best when we surround ourselves with other believers. That’s why we encourage everyone to be a part of one of our groups, where we can intentionally share our lives with one another. There is a Sunday School group meeting on Sunday mornings before Service at 9:30. Our small groups are also in the process of starting for the fall. If you would like to be a part of one, please reach out to Pastor Josh.
