A good name.

Between birth and death, we make a name for ourselves.

The reality of death.

The lessons of struggle.

Fleeting flattery.

Wise Warnings

Avoid dishonesty and deception.

Step away from impatience and pride.

Beginning well is good – ending well is critical.

Eliminate anger.

Value wisdom. Wisdom does not guarantee long life. Wisdom does not bypass death or eliminate struggles. Wisdom allows us to see the hand of God in the matter.

Old proverb, “God has two hands. One hand is His active hand doing for us, while the second hand is passive allowing elements of His will work in us.”

Solomon’s conclusion: God doesn’t always do what’s pleasant for you; He always does what’s best.
