What God is saying:
Adam, you shall work, work, work, toil, toil, toil, and it's not going to be easy. In fact, you are going to sweat. It is not going to be enjoyable. You are going to be frustrated.
And after digging at the ground all your life, you will end up there yourself.

God Gives Us Hope!!
I think the answer to truly find meaning in work in our life, no matter what that is. Whether it is looking after children, secular work, volunteering etc.
You see, in all the despair of Genesis, God gives us hope.
Hope is found in Genesis 3:15.
He shall bruise your head and you shall bruise His heal.
Proto evangelion (the 1st gospel)
This is the first promise of redemption, an ambiguous text, but a promise of the person to come who would bring salvation.
The person who the women would bring forth and the one who would crush the head of the serpent and the serpent would bruise his heal.
Pointing to Christ the one who defeats Satan and Satan bruises His heal by the crucifixion.
But Christ has victory with the resurrection.
That is the only way not to despair in this life.
Jesus is the way the truth and the life.

Whether you’re working with the homeless. Whether you are out of work because of the Covid scenario.
There is no need to despair because we have Christ.
• Christ is the anchor of our souls.
• Christ is the “why” to everything.
• Christ is our hope in a world that quite often appears meaningless.
Through Christ we can experience abundant and life-filled work.
Through His finished work, our unfinished work now becomes a joy and blessing.
Whether you’re at home with your children going stir crazy, or on a production line or pushing a broom.
Whether you’re working with the homeless. Whether you are out of work because of the Covid scenario.
There is no need to despair because we have Christ.

The greatest example we can give to our families is a work of faith grounded in scripture that encompasses all of life and not one that overreaches to the factory or secular work.
