I. Offerings – ourselves (vv 1-2)

A. The Matter of the offering (v 1)
1. God’s grand mercies persuade us
2. Our persuasion is to offer our living bodies
3. Because God owns us

B. The Manner of the offering (v 2)
1. Not conformed to the worldly model (v 2a)
2. But transformed by the Heavenly Master (v 2b)
3. Believers gain a renovated way of thinking
4. Believer’s sacrificed lives are rational commitments

II. Ownership – others (vv 3-5)

A. All believers are chosen and gifted for God’s purposes (v 3)

B. All believers are placed in Christ’s Church by God
1. All believers are designed by God for Christ’s Church
2. All believers are designated by God for Christ’s Church

C. Christ’s Church is one (v 5)
1. All the members of Christ’s Church are one
2. All the members of Christ’s Church are one of another
3. Therefore, all believers in Christ’s Church belong to one another

III. Operations – others centered (vv 6-8)

A. Spiritual gifts vary from believer to believer (v 6a)

B. Spiritual gifts are measures of God’s grace (v 6b)

C. All spiritual gifts are for the benefit of the others in the Church

D. Therefore, our spiritual gifts belong to the others in the Church
