So What?!
How do you transform marriage?

How do you transform marriage?
#1. Accept responsibility for my actions. For each one will bear his own load. Gal. 6:5. The word “bear” is the label used for a Roman soldier’s backpack. He had to have the physical strength to carry his own supplies. How do you divide responsibilities in your home? What are some things that you carry versus the responsibilities your spouse carries? Did you initially have a conversation about the differences in responsibilities or did it just evolve?
#2. Believe God can change my marriage. And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matt. 19:26. What’s one positive change you made early on in your marriage that made a beneficial difference. What are the spiritual disciplines that have impacted your marriage the most: praying together, church attendance, reading the Bible, discussing decisions with a spiritual emphasis, growing your emotions through Biblical advice (patience! Etc.) or fellowship with positive people?
#3. Commit to do whatever it takes
So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. Gal. 6:10. What’s one beneficially good thing that you’ve done for your spouse, that they noticed and commented on, in the past couple of weeks.
#4. Deal with unresolved hurts. Which is the more difficult one for you, asking forgiveness or extending forgiveness? Which one of the following 6 points of prayer do you pray for most? “When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. 3 ‘Give us each day our daily bread. 4 ‘And forgive us our sins,For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.And lead us not into temptation.’”
#5. Enlist support. Listen to counsel and accept discipline,That you may be wise the rest of your days. Proverbs 19:20. Do you feel like you’re growing in wisdom? How? What’s an area in which you’d like more wisdom? Who do you admire for their wisdom?
Family Time: Read Proverbs 19:20 to your kids. Explain that the difference between knowledge and wisdom is, knowledge is knowing correct information, wisdom is making good decisions based on correct information. Knowing gravity works is correct information, staying away from the edge of the roof so you don’t fall is using correct information in a wise way!
