What's Love Got To Do With It - Week 4

Legacy Church is real people meeting real needs with the reality of Christ. We weren’t created to go through life alone. That’s why we’re building a community of authentic believers who can grow through life together.

We’ve been looking this month at love: God’s love for us, our love for God, and for others. Now I want to discuss how this love fuels our mission.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Christ’s love for us is why we know love. This love that has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit is what fuels us to share the good news with others.

The good news isn’t that you are a sinner, but rather that Jesus is a Savior!
Paul clearly states what the good news is and what causes us to love God and be fuel by His love. It is because we are convinced that he has given His lie for all of us! Not only that, but that we died with Him and now have been made alive together with Him!

Paul goes on in 2 Corinthians to say that we have been given a ministry of reconciliation. He says we have a very specific message for the world. Tell me if this sounds like the gospel or the good news that you have heard preached.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

The incredibly amazing and beautiful news here to me is that God is not counting my sins against me or keeping a record of my wrongs. That’s good news!

The good news is that God is not keeping a record of your transgressions!

God has reconciled us to Himself. He did what we could not do. This is the good news. He did this in Christ. I love Paul’s description of this to the church at Colossi.

Colossians 1:15-20

God has reconciled all things to Himself in Christ. All things! Even us! We are reconciled back to our place of innocence by the work of Christ.

Colossians 1:20

So we are fueled by love to let the world know that God has made peace with them and is not angry. God loves and welcomes all back into the family! The message is God is at peace and invites us all into this peace!

Are you allowing love to fuel you to tell others of the Kingdom of God?
