What's Love Got To Do With It - Week 3
Legacy Church is real people meeting real needs with the reality of Christ. We weren’t created to go through life alone. That’s why we’re building a community of authentic believers who can grow through life together.

I want to begin by looking at two scriptures that speak clearly of the way we are to love each other.
Peter even says that is an echo of God’s intense love for us that we are now giving to each other. And this depth of love will be like a canopy or a covering over sins that could seek to destroy a brother or a sister. Instead of putting them down, or belittling them because of their struggle, we are to build them up and cover them with love.
We are called to build each other up, not tear each other down.
I want to look at some statements of Jesus today concerning loving others. It may not seem at first that this is what Jesus is talking about, but I believe we can see it there.
The Bible, when speaking of mountains, most often is speaking of kingdoms, governments, or authorities. Jesus spoke of faith that could move mountains. Seas in the Bible often represent masses of people. The passage I want to look at is an often quoted scripture about mountains and seas.
Some time ago Melinda was studying this passage and saw something a bit different in these passages. She shared it with me and I have been marinating on it for a while. I want to incorporate this in this message because I believe it is clearly about loving others and providing a safe place of refuge for them.
What happens when a mountain is cast into a sea? It provides a safe refuge for those who are struggling in the sea. That mountain provides land, ground, a solid foundation that wasn’t previously there.
When we believe in faith for the Kingdom of God to invade the situations of this earth that seem impossible to change, things supernaturally happen.
But even in the midst of this Jesus says if you have something against another person you need to release them, forgive them, love them more than you care about being right so that your faith for seeing His kingdom come to earth isn’t stopped by your own hate.
The power of love can change the hardest hearts.
True love can accomplish so much more than we have begun to understand. It is the force that caused God to send Jesus. It is what held Jesus to the cross. It is what called Him from the tomb. It is what our God is made of! True love will change us, our outlook toward others, the world and everything in it! We must be agents of this love.
Where in your world do you need the mountain of God’s love to be cast? Are you ready to pray in faith for it?
