Facts to consider about Jewish slavery (Exodus 21:16):
- Regulation of slavery is not affirmation of slavery.
- Many people became slaves through war and crime.
- Slavery was a form of social welfare.
- Jewish slavery was to be limited to 6 years. (Exodus 21:2)

Philemon's Peacemaking Process

As a peacemaker/mediator, ask people to agree to the following:
- Respond from a position of gentleness or sadness.
- Resist the urge to deny, flee, or attack.

Before speaking, consider if it is kind or necessary.
Pray and be willing to let go and restart.
