Community Group Opportunities
Interested in joining a small group? We currently have openings on Sunday morning and a few that meet during the week. We also are starting up a few new groups including a women’s only group, young married couples, and groups that are mixed ages. If you have been wanting to join a group this is the time! Women’s Bible Study
On January 4th and 5th we will be starting our next session in the Book of Luke. The study will go through April 12th & 13th. All women are welcome to join us. New Church Elder
The Elders are presenting Bob Burns as a candidate to become an elder at The River Church. Per our Constitution, on 12/12/21 we began a 30-day window for anyone to express concerns about about Bob’s qualifications as an elder. You may contact the Elders by emailing elders@HitTheRiver.com.
Cultivating Prayer
We can do much to heal societal divisions by living out forgiveness throughout our lives. We need to teach forgiveness in our families, so it becomes a way of life for us. This week discuss with your family how we can use forgiveness in difficult times in our lives.
Couples Night
On Friday, January 28th from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. we will be having a fun evening for couples. The evening will include dessert, games and prizes, fellowship and we will feature the River Church Elders in the Newlywed Game. For questions contact Leslie by emailing leslie@hittheriver.com.
River Youth Parent’s Meeting
Our student ministry (6th-12th grade) will be having a parents meeting today after the 11:15am service. We will be talking about upcoming events, series, and even the Summer Mission trip. River Youth 2022 Summer Mission Trip to Toronto
The River Youth are heading to Canada for a mission trip to the suburbs of Toronto in the summer of 2022. While there we will be partnering with local ministries to show the love of Christ to the local people of the Toronto Suburbs. We would love your student to join us! This is going to be a phenomenal trip. Deadline to sign up is February 6th. If you have any questions, please contact Zach at zach@HitTheRiver.com.
River Youth Tween Girls Bible Study
All 6th-8th grade girls join us this winter/spring to go through the study Defined by Priscilla Shirer. We will be starting this 8-week study on identity and who we are in Christ on Sunday January 9th. We will meet during first service in the youth room. Please purchase Defined Teen Girls Bible Study book prior to the first meeting. If your tween is interested in signing up please contact Brittany McGaffin at brittany.mcgaffin@gmail.com.
Daniel Fast
On January 1st our church started our annual 21 day “Daniel Fast.” Grab an information packet (with recipes!) in the foyer, or email Info@hittheriver.com to receive the pdf version. This is a significant way for you to grow spiritually and turbocharge your prayers!
