This year let’s:
#1. Commit to growth…both listening to them and asking them questions. Vs. 46
Whether you’re an introvert or an extrovert asking good questions and patiently listening to answers is a discipline and an art. When you meet someone new do you have any stock questions you ask to get to know them? When you come home from work and meet your spouse or kids do you have any questions you like to ask? What did you learn from the sermon that was new and interesting?
#2. Embrace personal humility…He continued in subjection to them;
vs. 51
Who’s one person you’ve known that you thought was humble while also maintaining their dignity or leadership position? One of the greatest ways we learn humility is when we serve our children, parents, friends when they’re sick, can you think of a memory of serving without being too graphic or gross!?
#3. Increase in wisdom and stature… vs. 52
Jesus grew in wisdom, which means He had to be able to learn new things as a human! What did you learn during High School that was really motivating to you?
What have you learned from Bible application lately? What’s one subject you’re still interested in from which you learn?
Family Time: Read this whole story about Jesus to your kids. Talk with them about the area they’re most interested in and from which they love to learn. Can you think of a field trip you can do with them to learn more about that subject?
