As followers of Jesus, we should abandon our sin and wholeheartedly pursue our freedom in Christ.

Jesus came to take away the sin of the world – to not only remove the penalty for sin, but also to destroy the power of sin to control and influence us.

Martin Luther wrote, “Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing, were not the right man on our side, the man of God’s own choosing. Dost ask who that may be? Lord Jesus, it is he! Lord Sabaoth his name, from age to age the same, and he must win the battle!”

1. Obey God.

2. Allow the people in your church community to help you.

3. Study the Scriptures.

4. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
