What is LoveKey Church All About?
Our name comes from the fact that we believe that the KEY to salvation (giving your life to Jesus, becoming a reborn Christian) is the revelation of how much God LOVES you. And the KEY to living the life He has for us is to LOVE him back. That’s why LoveKey Church is a local expression of a part of the body of Christ with a focus on creating a place, opportunity and atmosphere where all people can encounter God, align with His purposes in order to reign in life, and help others to do the same.
ENCOUNTER, ALIGN REIGN, HELP OTHERS DO THE SAME - easy way to remember it.
We believe the Bible is the word of God and we commit to be obedient to it with the leading of the Holy Spirit
We believe that marriage and family is God’s idea and His way of doing it is the right way and the best way. We want to see marriages thrive and families be healthy in Jesus. Because healthy families build a healthy nation - notice I didn’t say “perfect” families, I said healthy - whole in Jesus, reconciled in Jesus, redeemed by Jesus, focused on Jesus.
We stand for unity in the body of Christ - we can be diverse but not divided, and celebrate our different gifts and roles in the greater body of Christ. We really resonate with Jesus’ prayer in John 17 where he asks that the Father will make us all one as He and the Father are one so that the world will know that He sent Him. Our biggest evangelical tool is unity!
We want to help eradicate fatherlessness and shine a light on the crisis of cultural Christianity - South Africa has a physical fatherlessness rate of 62% and other forms of fatherlessness in the remaining percentage - it truly is a huge problem.
Cultural Christianity is where people grow up in a so-called Christian home or culture and believe that that makes them a Christian, when in fact it is very possible that the culture they’re in has adopted a version of God that is convenient, made it apart of their culture and they’re actually worshipping their culture.
We want this to be a multi-generational, multi-cultural church that lives to know Jesus and to make Him known.

Reign In Life - Series

"All Things"
MAIN MESSAGE:
REIGN IN LIFE - “ALL THINGS”
Main SERIES scripture:
Let’s read it in NLT: Romans 5:17
'For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.'
Introduction:
Is it possible to give something that is legally not yours? In other words, if you are not the legal owner of something, can you give it to another?
No, you cannot give legal possession of something you do not legally own. You would only be passing on a stolen thing, thereby committing fraud and also making the other person guilty.
Let me also ask you this: Can you possess something or have ownership of something that is legally made available to you if you do not take it? If you do not accept the transfer of ownership, if you do not receive it, it remains given but not taken.
Do you remember when the postal service use to work in South Africa…? Well, when it did work, and someone sent you a package, you would receive a slip in your post box to notify you that you have a package waiting for you at the post office. It has been sent, it has been given, it is available, but you actually have to go to the post office to pick it up and take ownership of it before it is yours and before you can make use of or enjoy whatever you received. Make sense?
Today we are going to take a look at what Jesus possesses and what he has made available to those who love and obey him, also known as His children. And we are going to trust Holy Spirit to reveal to us how we can take hold of this truth in order to take hold of what Jesus has given us and how we ought to apply it to our lives.
The message title is “All Things” - we will read the main scripture that has this phrase, and then I will show you a few more scriptures that contain the same phrase and I want to invite you to make your heart fertile soil in order to receive what these scriptures teach.
I truly believe that this revelation has the potential to change us all and take us much deeper in our understanding of who we are in Christ and how we should be reigning in in this life.
We will look at scripture and see what:
1. Jesus received
2. What Jesus gives us access to
3. We should do with it.
Live life free from sin and death (life and godliness, every spiritual blessing)
Rule, reign and have authority on the earth in the spheres and on the platforms God has called us
WHAT JESUS RECEIVED:
Main message verse:
John 13:3-5: 'Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. '
Other scriptures confirming he has all things:
Matt 28 - “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
John 1:3 - “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”
Col. 1:16 - “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.”
Ephesians 1:15-23 - 'Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.’
Hebrews 1:1-4 - 'God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.'
What We have received:
We are joint-heirs, we have received an inheritance, and authority, and be fruitful:
Romans 8:17 NKJV - “and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”
Ephesians 1:3-6 - 'Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.'
II Peter 1:3-4 NKJV - “as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises,
Matthew 16:19 NKJV - “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
John 15:7-8 - 'If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.'
John 15:15 - “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
Because of the fall of man, the law of God requires an appropriate sacrifice. Only Jesus could be the necessary ultimate sacrificial lamb that could satisfy the wrath of God and pay the price once and for all. And because Jesus did this, he received all things from the Father. All things are for the Father to give since he created all things.
The first Adam caused division between man and God and God’s original plan for mankind to receive all the things (all things) that He had for them did not work out initially. The second Adam, Jesus, had to come and fix it all and so he did by paying the ultimate price - dying on a cross, facing death, being separated from God for a moment, and he defeated sin and death and rose again.
Now, through Jesus Christ, through a relationship with Him - something we can only attain by realizing we are sinners in need of a saviour, repenting and giving our lives to Jesus, getting baptised with water and Holy Spirit, joining a local church and serving in the Kingdom of God - in other words by getting truly saved - we have access to ALL THINGS
It is clear from scripture that we become legitimate co-heirs of Jesus Christ once we become born-again, saved followers of Jesus. He is the firstborn of many brethren. Through our relationship with Jesus, we have access to the “all things” we read about here.
When we step into a relationship with Jesus, we step into a covenant relationship and we have access to the incorruptible seed that made Jesus the firstborn of many brethren and we have access to the covenant God made with Abraham - we have covered this from scripture in previous sermons.
In a covenant relationship, both parties come into it with all they are and all they have. 100% - 100%, not 50/50. Jesus brings his all, his all things, into a relationship with us. We are invited to do the same. We are invited essentially, to lay all the things down that we are and have, the earthly things, the weak things, the things we worship, the things that are weights and sin in our lives - we need to sacrifice all things… that is the key to receiving the “all things” Jesus has.
If your hands are full of rocks, how will someone put diamonds in your hands? You won’t be able to take them, unless you drop the rocks to make space in your hands to take the diamonds.
Or if you refuse to let go of worthless things that you think have worth, you cannot receive the priceless things God has for you.
The “all things” Jesus makes available through covenant relationship is not a lucky packet from which I can now snap my fingers to get all the stuff I’ve always wanted. It’s not a false prosperity gospel slot machine. Remember John 15 - abide in me… When we truly love Jesus, and we grow closer to Him daily, and we die to ourselves and our sinful nature, our heart’s desires will become more and more the same as God’s desires, and then our prayers will change more and more to align with what God wants. Those are the prayers that will be answered.
This is why it is so important that we keep having regular encounters with God where we can learn more about how to align with His purposes so that we can reign in life and help others to do the same.
Imagine for a moment you’re the sibling and co-heir of the richest person on the planet. You receive the same things that he has received. You have access to billions of dollars. You have the bank account numbers and all the necessary pin codes and access permissions.
But you know that it is a family business. And the family business has a business plan and a strategy that has been put in place and funds may only be used for the furthering of those purposes. The funds you seek will be released when your request is in line with the family business plan. No wasting allowed.
So the question is, do we all know the cosmic and eternal “business plan” of our Father in Heaven? Do we trust that His plan is a good one?
What do you think his plan is? Plunder hell and populate heaven. Does it take manpower? Yes. Will it take billions of dollars to reach the lost and bring God’s brand of justice and righteousness to the world? Yes. So when we pray, and beg and try but nothing seems to happen, no prayers seems to be answered - is it because God is not good? Or could it be that we are not in alignment with God and praying for the right things?
Could it also perhaps be that God is waiting for us to be the change that we are praying for? Remember the sermon on David and Goliath? There is a moment where we need to say amen and pick up the stone and run toward the giant to kill it, knowing that our God is with us and therefore we will succeed.
What should we do with “all things” access?:
1. Reign over sin and death
We are set free from sin and death and have authority over sin and death through Jesus - we can reign in life - be holy and blameless, be perfect
We have been given every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places
We have received everything that pertains to life and godliness
2. Reign, rule and have authority in this realm
If Jesus has all authority in heaven and earth, why does the world look the way it does? If our country’s population really is over 80% Christian, as the stats show, why does our nation look the way it does?
Could it be that something integral we have missed in the great commission is to go to all the nations and make disciples of all people is to make sure we reach those in positions of authority and even choose to be those in places of authority? Is it ok for Christians to only pray and hope from the sidelines, and complain when we see unrighteous and ungodly leaders destroy our nation through corruption and a complete lack of Biblical morals?
Is it not perhaps time that we realise that part of the “all things” we have received in Jesus is to be his hands and feet not only in our marriages, families and communities but also in places of government - schools, municipal, provincial and national? How else will be bring heaven to earth if we are not positioned where it matters?
This may come with wealth and power - and we need to be so positioned that we never worship wealth or power, but always God first. If He sees he can trust us in the little, he will put us in charge or more.
We can easily fall in the trap of a false prosperity gospel when we see we have access to all things. But Our Jesus is calling us into greater wisdom of what that means and what it looks like practically in our lives.
Are we in the end times? Yes. How long have the end times been coming on and how much longer will it continue for? We do not know for sure, although some have made some guestimates… Is the world a mess and will it get messier? Yes, it is so prophesied. So what should we do? What can we do?
I believe we should take these promises of the Bible seriously and know that we know that Jesus truly has all things and that through Him we have access to all things and we can reign in this life with Him if we understand His Kingdom properly and want to serve it. We need to apply this knowledge and trust God for wisdom in how each of us can occupy a position, a sphere of influence, a position of power (whatever it might be) for the glory of His kingdom.
This starts at home, in our marriages, our parenting, our family and friendships. But it should go further by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
We were not created to be superficially happy and live comfortable and convenient lives. If you want that, don’t follow Jesus. Go follow the broad way where many others are. It ends in eternal death and separation from God, but you may have more fun while you’re on this side of eternity.
The path with Jesus to heaven is a narrow one and there are less people on it. But it leads to life with Jesus for eternity in God’s glorious presence. And yes, while here you will have some challenges, hard times and trials. But, when you do go through them, God is with you every step of the way and you’re able to live super-natural - above the natural.
We have been called to a life of giving our all to the Kingdom of God. To praise, worship and serve God with all that we have and share his love and Kingdom with others. And we have been given all things, every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places and everything that pertains to life and godliness to do it. Let’s believe it, take it and use it.
REFLECT AND RESPOND
Let us ask God to show us how and where we can serve His Kingdom and effectively access and apply “all things”. How can we further His kingdom?
Let us ask God how we can be in places of earthly authority to bring heaven into every sphere of life.
