JESUS IS A WONDERFUL COUNSELOR BECAUSE…

JESUS WON'T CHANGE YOUR LIFE WITHOUT CHANGING YOU.
HOW DO WE RESPOND TO THE WONDERFUL COUNSELOR?

1. Be HONEST
2. LISTEN closely
3. FOLLOW His Instructions
Are you turning to the Wonderful Counselor and trusting Him to lead your daily life?

Dig Deeper

1. How did your parents choose your name? If you have kids, how did you choose their names?
2. How is Jesus both human and God?
3. When you think of Jesus as a baby lying in the manger and at the same time ruler of the universe, what comes to your mind?
4. Which one of Jesus’ four-fold names means the most to you right now? Why?
5. What do you think of when you hear the word wonderful? What about counselor?
6. Who do you typically go to first when you need counsel? Why is it important to go directly to God when you need counsel? (Read Matthew 11:29-30)
7. What counsel from God’s Word have you taken to heart and followed? What has happened in your life because of following that counsel?
8. Why is the counsel God gives us more than just a suggestion? What happens when we don’t follow His counsel?
9. Why do we usually put conditions on what we will do and when? Why can’t we use conditions with God?
10. Is there something in your life you are trusting in your own strength to do instead of God? What results in doing something in our own strength? What steps can you take today to change and start trusting in God’s strength?
