1. A Good Example
Paul tells Timothy to set such a good example that nobody will look down on him because of his youth. And isn’t it interesting how Jesus only taught by means of parables? Demonstrating Christian concepts has always been the best way to reach anybody and everybody.

2. A Great Example
Speaking of Christian concepts, the greatest event in all of human history occurred when God’s son took on human flesh in the Christ child conceived in the womb of Mary, a Jewish teenager. And Mary’s song is a beautiful prophecy of God’s love, mercy and justice in response. God is with us!

3. Holy Spirit Pouring Out All Over!
Look out you sons and daughters, you young men, you old men, and all you men and women! Visions, dreams, prophecy all by the Holy Spirit being poured out.

4. Bad Examples
Applying the scriptures does not mean checking off boxes on a list. Nor is applying the scriptures some kind of recipe with just the right ingredients and prescribed steps. We have a bunch of examples in the New Testament of what can happen with churches, but unfortunately, most are bad examples. Our best example seems like the very earliest example, which involves fellowship, prayer, breaking bread, and the Apostles’ teaching. Home groups are where it’s at.

5. Diverse City
God’s Kingdom is made up of people of all colours, of all ages, of all cultures and nationalities. It is by grace through faith that we have been saved, in order to do the good works God has created in advance for us to do. If we want to apply the scriptures, we have to live them.
