What is the issue?

17 - no longer walk - go on no further!
- futility - emptiness with moral wrong. As compared to the fullness of the future God plans.

18 - understanding darkened - thoughts leading to conclusions deprived of light.
- ignorance & blindness - lack of knowledge & insensitivity to the light. The lack of a renewed spirit of the mind affects the sight of your heart!

19 - being past feelings - insensible. From the word we get “analgesic.”
- given themselves over - surrender voluntarily to the “license” for sin or absence of restraint from sin.

GAL 4:23 - renewed - to renovate.

- 14 - but IF -
- bitterness is hurt rationalized to the point of acceptance.

- self-seeking is the power of flesh masquerading as God’s will. (COL. 2:20-23)
