In this passage of God’s Word, we see what almost every scholar says is the most difficult of Jesus’ parables to interpret. Most of the time, Jesus’ parables are fairly self-evident. God is represented, and people are represented. However, in this instance, it almost seems as though Jesus commends sin. However, we know this cannot be the case.
So, what does this story tell us?
1. We should have fervor
Luke 16:8, Titus 2:14, 2 Cor. 9:1-2, Rev. 3:15-22
2. Act, knowing you’ll be held accountable
Luke 16:1, 12:47-48, Rom. 14:12, Matt. 12:36-37, Heb. 4:13, Jer. 17:10
3. Live with eternity in mind
Luke 16:9, 1 Cor. 9:24-27, Eph. 9:15-22, John 17:3
