Locations & Times

Thursday 5:00 PM

In this passage of God’s Word, we see what almost every scholar says is the most difficult of Jesus’ parables to interpret. Most of the time, Jesus’ parables are fairly self-evident. God is represented, and people are represented. However, in this instance, it almost seems as though Jesus commends sin. However, we know this cannot be the case.

So, what does this story tell us?

1. We should have fervor
Luke 16:8, Titus 2:14, 2 Cor. 9:1-2, Rev. 3:15-22

2. Act, knowing you’ll be held accountable
Luke 16:1, 12:47-48, Rom. 14:12, Matt. 12:36-37, Heb. 4:13, Jer. 17:10

3. Live with eternity in mind
Luke 16:9, 1 Cor. 9:24-27, Eph. 9:15-22, John 17:3
Reflection Questions

1. What were your reactions when you first heard this story? Did you understand what Jesus was saying? Have you ever heard this parable taught on before?

2. How is your passion for your faith? Have you lost fervor? Why or why not? What would you need to become passionate for Christ and what He’s called you to do?

3. What type of legacy could you leave if you seriously served Christ passionately?

If you would like to be a part of one, please reach out to Pastor Josh.
