What is LoveKey Church All About?
Our name comes from the fact that we believe that the KEY to salvation (giving your life to Jesus, becoming a reborn Christian) is the revelation of how much God LOVES you. And the KEY to living the life He has for us is to LOVE him back. That’s why LoveKey Church is a local expression of a part of the body of Christ with a focus on creating a place, opportunity and atmosphere where all people can encounter God, align with His purposes in order to reign in life, and help others to do the same.
ENCOUNTER, ALIGN REIGN, HELP OTHERS DO THE SAME - easy way to remember it.
We believe the Bible is the word of God and we commit to be obedient to it with the leading of the Holy Spirit
We believe that marriage and family is God’s idea and His way of doing it is the right way and the best way. We want to see marriages thrive and families be healthy in Jesus. Because healthy families build a healthy nation - notice I didn’t say “perfect” families, I said healthy - whole in Jesus, reconciled in Jesus, redeemed by Jesus, focused on Jesus.
We stand for unity in the body of Christ - we can be diverse but not divided, and celebrate our different gifts and roles in the greater body of Christ. We really resonate with Jesus’ prayer in John 17 where he asks that the Father will make us all one as He and the Father are one so that the world will know that He sent Him. Our biggest evangelical tool is unity!
We want to help eradicate fatherlessness and shine a light on the crisis of cultural Christianity - South Africa has a physical fatherlessness rate of 62% and other forms of fatherlessness in the remaining percentage - it truly is a huge problem.
Cultural Christianity is where people grow up in a so-called Christian home or culture and believe that that makes them a Christian, when in fact it is very possible that the culture they’re in has adopted a version of God that is convenient, made it apart of their culture and they’re actually worshipping their culture.
We want this to be a multi-generational, multi-cultural church that lives to know Jesus and to make Him known.

Reign In Life - Series

The King's Domain
MAIN MESSAGE:
REIGN IN LIFE - “THE KING’S DOMAIN”
New Series: REIGN IN LIFE
Main scripture:
Romans 5:17 - 'For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.'
Third Topic: The King’s Domain
Charles Dickens wrote “A Tale of Two Cities”. The famous quote from that book reads as follows:
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”
Similarly, the Bible explains that life is a tale of two kingdoms.
And to use a reference from an entirely different genre - you know how “The Lord of the Rings” takes place on “Middle Earth”... but it is divided into many kingdoms - yeah, in our world, there is no middle earth, or middle ground - there are only two kingdoms. Only two rulers with their two domains.
There is the kingdom of this world ruled by the father of lies and the prince of the power of the air, who steals, kills and destroys, who prouls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour,
And then there's God’s kingdom that is all about God’s cosmic love, relationship, true freedom, eternal life, life in abundance, light, life, holiness, perfection and power.
Here’s some scripture:

Here’s some scripture:
Light and darkness. BOTH are Kingdoms… The King’s Domain… They are NOT democracies. Even when you are in the world and think you’re free, you're actually in bondage to the evil one who is very happy with your ignorance and delusion.
He will either convince you that you’re free when you’re doing what you want, or he will convince you that there is no God, no devil, and no eternity (no heaven or hell).
If you do believe there is God, but you never give your life to Christ, he is not really concerned about you and will convince you there is no hurry to get spiritual and make important decisions about where you will spend eternity.
He is also very happy if you think you’re Christian because you grew up in a Christian home, but you never actually became born again and never got baptised because you believe that baptism is sprinkling water on a baby. This is one of the most difficult lies to recognize and snap out of. But when a kingdom’s best characteristic is to lie convincingly, it is to be expected.
He is also very happy if you’re a cultural Christian because you are ineffective against his kingdom. You do not have access to supernatural power and truth. You are not aware of your true identity and how Jesus can heal, cast out demons, and raise the dead through you. You are powerless, because you are not plugged into power. You are only plugged into culture (if you serve it and don’t understand the power of it) and culture is an idol connected to the kingdom of this world.
People who fall under the scriptural definition of being part of the “sons of disobedience” fall in a few different categories. For example - some know that they are following the devil and they’re open and vocal about it. Some are openly and proudly living in sin and giving themselves over to depravity and immoral behaviour.
But some would consider themselves to be a “good person” even though they are atheists, agnostics or follow a different religion. Being “good” for most people basically means “not being bad”.
There are many other specific, personal versions of this or variants of this. The important point that I’m trying to bring across is that from a Biblical worldview, we have to realize that there are only two kingdoms, and if you’re not a born again citizen of God’s kingdom… you’re in the other one, no matter what that looks like for you, how you describe it or how you feel about it.
When Jesus started his ministry he said “repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”. Shortly before his crucifixion, he said that his kingdom is not of this world. And in between Jesus told many parables to explain what the kingdom of heaven is like.
We will delve into several aspects of the kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven over the next few Sundays.
Today I believe God wants us to focus on 5 important things we need to realize about how God’s kingdom works and what our role is in it.
Firstly, let us contrast a kingdom with a democracy. Because we live in a modern age and in the secularised western world where we supposedly are in a democratic nation, we may need to be reminded of the fact that Christianity, our faith, is based in a kingdom, the kingdom of God. And we need to realise that a democratic government is very different from a kingdom. Why do I warn against this? Because if we assume that it is like a democracy or approach God as if he is a president of a democratic nation rather than the king of His kingdom, then we will not engage with our Lord in the right way and have expectations that are unrealistic and just wrong.
Brittanica.com: Democracy is a system of government in which power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or through freely elected representatives.
National Geographic: A kingdom is a piece of land that is ruled by a king or a queen. A kingdom is often called a monarchy, which means that one person, usually inheriting their position by birth or marriage, is the leader, or head of state.
So, when we approach Jesus as if he is an elected official we come with an attitude and with expectations. We think we have a say in how things are done in the kingdom…
Are we going to protest over poor service delivery when our prayers aren’t answered the way we want? Like it is a pothole that just isn’t getting fixed? Do we think we can vote him out when we are not happy with his style of governance? With his decrees? Maybe we approach him with an attitude and want to tell him that the great commissions and beatitudes and other commands are all very dated, against modern culture and highly offensive to many people… and well, you… Approaching Jesus as a leader of a democracy really causes many problems for us. Because he is not changing. His word is not changing and the reality of how His kingdom worlds is not changing.
But when we approach Jesus as the Son of the living God who through his ultimate sacrifice was given the highest name and authority in heaven and earth, and we recognize him as the King of kings… the king OF kings… the Lord of all lord… then we come humbly, surrendered, laying everything down to serve at the pleasure of the king. Then we are grateful and excited to be children of the most high God and king because we realise this means an inheritance and purpose. We know that there is a whole kingdom to govern and we have a role to play, but the specific role is not up to us - it has been pre-destined by the King himself who knows us best and knows exactly where and how we will fulfill our purpose.
Ok, the 5 things about The King’s Domain we need to know:
1. Submission
2. Possession
3. Commission
4. Protection
5. Promise
Submission
recognize that there is a kingdom of God
Have a revelation (through and encounter) that the ruler of this Kingdom created everything, you included, and out of love (LOVEKEY - the key to salvation is the revelation of how much God loves us) for you created an opportunity for you to be reconciled with Him through the death, burial and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ
Have a revelation that in order to have eternal life you need to be part of this kingdom,
And in order to see and enter this kingdom, you have to repent, get saved/born-again, accept the lordship of the kingdom, and this will manifest in active obedience, faith, belonging, LOVE God by keeping his commands/decrees (LOVEKEY - John 14:15 - if you love me you will keep my commandments)
submitting to and living from the truth of who I am in Christ, who I am not and therefore should not do (sin) (discovering and living from true identity in Christ, the King says who I am)
That’s our mission guys - ENCOUNTER, ALIGN REIGN
Possession
We are citizens of the kingdom - we get to possess or occupy the land, the kingdom
When you possess and occupy you can work and get a harvest
We receive the right to be called children of the King
the Kingdom becomes our inheritance and we are now joint-heirs with the king, Jesus
A kingdom advances and is passed on through the royal bloodline - if a king is survived by a son, the son will become king. (also important here is how a father and mother need to raise up children in the ways of the Lord)
Our king however will never die, and his bloodline keeps increasing all the time
The Bible tells us that we are co-heirs of Jesus Christ who is king and who owns everything
The Bible also calls true believers friends of God, brothers of Christ, chosen and called
We are a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a chosen generation
We need to choose to take hold of our
Commission
because I’m submitted, it is about serving Jesus, laying my will down
I submitted so that I can do what I’m called to do in the kingdom
In relationship with the king I discover my true identity and my true King given calling - my mission in serving at the pleasure of the King, my role in advancing the kingdom
Jesus gave all believers the great commission, share the gospel, reign in life over sin and death and help others to do the same
and we each have a specific calling within the broader one that we need to discover and live out.
Protection
He will protect and guide and cover as we go out on the mission he gave us
he has prepared us and given us the armour of God, God’s covering, the blood of Jesus, prayer
knowledge of true identity, knowing I’m untouchable,
we are in this world but not from this world, because we submitted and accepted the commission we are supernaturally protected as we go out
our passports to heaven reflects our identity and purpose as well as our status as citizens of a heavenly kingdom
so we cannot be messed with successfully, no weapon formed against us, etc.
Psalm 91
Promise
The promise of eternity with God
The promise of glory with the Father
as children of God and citizens of heaven, we have an eternal destiny to look forward to.
The kingdom of God, the Kingdom of heaven is not a place we’re going to one day only, it is now at hand, it is accessible now, we can live in it and from it and bring it wherever we go.
And yes, Jesus promised to go to His father in heaven and prepare a place for all who are his children. We can look forward to that. The glory of it, the joy set before us.
To live is Christ, to die is gain.
REFLECT AND RESPOND
In which kingdom are you? Be honest.
If you were to die today or tomorrow, in which eternal kingdom will you open your eyes in? Because the kingdom you step into here, will be the one you stick with in eternity…
Prayer of salvation
Prayer of repentance and coming home
He will either convince you that you’re free when you’re doing what you want, or he will convince you that there is no God, no devil, and no eternity (no heaven or hell).
