In this passage of God’s Word, we see the religious elitists’ grumbling about Jesus being around notorious sinners. Jesus responds to them by telling 3 parables about God’s love. By taking a look at all 3 of these parables we get a really good look at how much God loves us all.
God shows us His love by:
1. Seeking after us
Luke 15:4, 8, 20, 19:10, 2 Pet. 3:9, John 6:44
2. Giving us free will
Luke 15:11-13, Rev. 3:20, Gal. 5:13
3. Accepting us in a sinful state
Luke 15:20-24, Rom. 5:8, 10:13, Eph. 2:4-5, Is. 53:6
4. Celebrating our restoration
Luke 15:6, 9, 22-24, 1 Pet. 5:6-11, John 10:10
5. Overcoming our pride

1. How well do you keep God’s love in mind in your everyday life? Do you feel like you ever struggle with an inaccurate view of God?
2. Make a list stating the ways that God has graciously shown you His amazing love over the course of your life.
3. How would it change your life if you remembered the immensity of God’s love? How can you remember the vastness of God’s love better?

CHURCH FAMILY NEEDS:Pray for Eliza, Katy Gottwald’s daughter. She prematurely gave birth recently. Both her and baby are healthy and recovering well.
MISSIONARIES: This month pray for Jayne Johnston.
FAMILY OF THE WEEK: Each week we’ll pray for a different family in our church. This week pray for the Savill.
HILLSIDE HAPPENINGS: Pray that the church would continue to stay unified under Christ. Pray for our livestream and for the people joining us there. Pray that God would use us to bring His Kingdom here. Pray for the various building projects. Pray for our children’s ministry as it is getting built back up. Pray for all of the visitors that we had at the trunk or treat event on Oct. 22nd.
CURRENT HAPPENINGS: Pray for the current health pandemic in our world and in our country. Pray for medical staff and for our leaders as they navigate how to best help. Pray for students, teachers, administrators, and all other school staff as they head into another school year. Pray for Afghanistan, especially the church there. Pray for the recent destruction due to storms.

Groups

We believe that our faith grows best when we surround ourselves with other believers. That’s why we encourage everyone to be a part of one of our groups, where we can intentionally share our lives with one another. There is a Sunday School group meeting on Sunday mornings before Service at 9:30. Our small groups are also in the process of starting for the fall. If you would like to be a part of one, please reach out to Pastor Josh.
Operation Christmas Child

If you are interested in filling an operation Christmas Child box, please stop by the Welcome Center to pick one up. Instructions can also be found there. There is a cost of $9 to ship each box. Feel free to fill a box, or just cover the shipping for a box. Please see Brittney if you have any questions.
