Making Space for the Supremacy of Jesus

Making Space for the Supremacy of Jesus

We would really like to do this 'emotional health' piece on our own terms. However, it becomes apparent that we cannot come to emotional health and spiritual maturity by our own wits and wisdom. We can only enter into the abundant life that Jesus promised by the life of Jesus at work in us. Following Jesus means following him into his ways of prayer (and his practice of Sabbath).

Discussion and Application Questions for Group Life Communities and Personal Study-

Read Colossians 1.13-23, 4.1-6

Observe- Take time to read the passage a few times….consider reading it in different translations. What words or phrases stand out to you?

- How is Jesus described?

- What does God accomplish for us in Jesus?

Interpret
- How do you think actually BELIEVING this would impact one's personal life?

- How do you you think a whole church would be transformed if we experienced Jesus at this level?

Apply
- How are you going to 'make space' for the supremacy of Jesus this week and going forward? What would you like to see happen in your rhythms and how will you start this journey?

- What will be your greatest challenges?

- How will you look to your Group to help you in developing these new rhythms?

Take time to pray for each other and encourage one another as we walk with Jesus.

Remember:

Four Principles for Living the Missio Dei:
*Share in life with people who do not yet know Jesus.
*Inspire others to know and follow Jesus by living your faith attractively.
*Grow with others in your faith and obedience.
*Serve others with sacrificial love.
