What do you WANT from Jesus?
John 6
How do we know Jesus is not advocating some kind of cannibalism?

1. No one ever actually ate Jesus.

2. Some have tried to blend this teaching with Jesus’ later teaching on communion, but that’s not the context of what Jesus is talking about here.

3. Jesus has been talking about “bread” in spiritual terms this entire conversation.
John 6:27 “[work] for food that endures to eternal life.”

John 6:33 “the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

John 6:63 “The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life”

John 6:40 “For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

John 6:54 “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Have you come to the place in your relationship with Jesus where you don't need His miracles as much anymore because you have Jesus Himself?
“Next Steps”

- Honestly, ask myself, “What do I really want from Jesus?”

- Repent of the superficial ways I tend to “use” Jesus.

- Begin a fresh pursuit of knowing Jesus.

- Set up a one-on-one with someone I know who has the kind of relationship with Jesus I want.

- Begin reading one of the three book recommendations (or another option) as a way to get some help in my pursuit of God. “Experiencing God”, “Knowing God”, “Desiring God”
