To find your saved files in the YouVersion Bible app: Open the app, press more (three horizontal lines), events, then choose saved events.
WARM-UP:
• When it comes to following directions, are you most likely to trust a) your spouse/co-pilot, b) your “gut,” or c) Google maps? Have any of these ever steered you wrong?
DISCUSSION:
1. Regarding the authority of Scripture, what does the Bible have to say about itself? (See the following scriptures)

Psalms 19:7

Psalms 119:89

Proverbs 30:5-6

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Hebrews 4:12

2. What makes the Bible different from all other written words?
3. What gives the Bible the right to tell us how to live our lives?
4a. It is common to hear the advice “Follow (or trust) your heart.” Do you think that is a reliable voice to listen to?
4b. Why would God’s Word be a better guide?
5. On a scale of 1-10 (“1” being “Uh-uh. No way” and “10” being “Yes, Sir! As you wish”), how would you rate your willingness to yield to the authority of God’s Word in your:
Relationships?
Finances?
Heart attitudes?
Personal health choices (rest, diet, exercise)?
Use of time?
Use of words?
APPLICATION:
Pick one of the lower-scoring areas of your life in question #5. What can you do this week to yield to God’s Word in that area? (Remembering, of course, that He is the Vine; you are a branch. Fruit comes from “remaining” in Him, not “trying harder”!)
