Remaining true to the Gospel of Jesus Christ without ever losing sight. We are called to be a local church with a global reach. What is happening within the church that you are excited about? The continuation of sharing the Word of God to the people of God by way of technology! We just launched our church podcast and our Facebook page has over 2,500 followers. Also, we are still serving our local community via Bright Star Food Pantry and Acts 4:32 ministries. With the latest tragedy in Haiti, we not only prayed for God's restorative hand but sent financial support by way of global missions to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Lastly, our congregation is gearing up for Christmas on 36th Street, our community outreach event when we turn our church parking lot into Desert Wonderland! Last year we served over 200 families and passed out toys, crafts, and holiday treats. This year's event will take place Saturday, December 11. All are invited and welcome to attend! What are one or two prayer needs within the church? A posture of prayer to cover our senior pastor, Rev. Amos L. Lewis, as he continues to follow Christ, provide for his family, and shepherd the flock here at Rising Star. Anything else you’d like to share? We are grateful to serve as Church of the Week. By faith, we believe Christ is calling us who are called by his name to be the church he is well pleased with.
