Theme: Last week you learned from verses 1 through 10 that there is a danger in worshiping idols and false gods because you believe that our one true God is taking too long. When you put God on the shelf in favor of other things, He does not like it. When you give other things credit for what God alone is doing in our life He does not like that either. The result of worshiping idols (even ourselves) makes our life choices worse and makes way for God’s judgment. Last week we learned the pitfalls of taking control of our lives over God’s will. Today we see what happens when God asserts His control over you!

And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God. 4 And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem? 5 No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.”

If you are unwilling to repent, you will never know the full depth of God’s love!
