OUR FATHER
Matthew 6.9
Luke 11.1 (ESV) Lord, teach us to pray . . .
Matthew 6.9-13 (ESV) Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
John 5.17-18 (ESV) Jesus answered them (Jewish religious authorities), “My Father is working until now, and I am working.” This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
"Our Father in Heaven": This Means. . .
When we pray, God is close.
When we pray, God is constant.
When we pray, God is capable.
