We really resonate with Jesus’ prayer in John 17 where he asks that the Father will make us all one as He and the Father are one so that the world will know that He sent Him. We want to help eradicate fatherlessness and shine a light on the crisis of cultural Christianity - South Africa has a physical fatherlessness rate of 62% and other forms of fatherlessness in the remaining percentage - it truly is a huge problem.
Cultural Christianity is where people grow up in a so-called Christian home or culture and believe that that makes them a Christian, when in fact it is very possible that the culture they’re in has adopted a version of God that is convenient, made it apart of their culture and they’re actually worshipping their culture.
We want this to be a multi-generational, multi-cultural church that lives to know Jesus and to make Him known.

Psalms 78:1-8 - we need to have a generational approach - once again intentionality is highlighted here (your most dangerous mistake as a parent would be to make assumptions)
Proverbs 22:6: we have a responsibility to train our children, and when we do there’s a powerful promise
Isaiah 54:13: the beautiful promise of how the Lord will also teach our children
Proverbs 1:8-9: following a parents’ instruction beautifies your life
Psalms 127:3-5: children are a heritage from the Lord

Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes! “If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. MESSAGE:
I thought that the role of protecting our children was obvious. And most normal, sane parents would lay down their lives for their children’s physical safety. Right? But today I feel the strong need to talk about the need to protect our children’s spiritual, mental and emotional well-being with the same passion, tenacity and conviction as we would protect their physical well-being.
What would you do if you found out, while at work or at home, that one day the school your child attends left the school ground gates open during the day and invited human traffickers to come in and steal your child? Would you not get on the phone as you’re rushing down to the school, calling your spouse, family, the police, EVERYONE to come and help put a stop to this madness?!!!!
Or would you say, “I’m sure the headmaster, teachers and school board know what they’re doing. I’m sure it will all work out well. I’m sure the human traffickers are not really as bad as everyone says. Maybe this will be a good learning experience for my child.”
Now, as INSANE as that sounds, that is exactly what is happening in our schools at the moment. Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and dark forces, the assignments of the devil. These forces come from the father of lies, satan. He lies extremely well, better than any of us ever can. And when someone believes a seemingly insignificant lie, he puts a veil over their spiritual eyes and the next lie is much easier to sell. Eventually those that have been lied to effectively are surprised at those who challenge them and not just think but now believe they are right and others are wrong. To the extent that they will fight for what they now believe.
Seemingly small compromises on what is true, will eventually lead to a landslide of lies.
People, there is a mighty war raging in the spirit for the souls of our children. It has always been the case. But the fight has intensified drastically over the last few years and has become more blatant and arrogant and because of clever groundwork laid by the enemy where he has successfully gotten governments, schools and even churches to take out the name of Jesus, the ten commandments, the moral compass of the Bible, the living word of God; there is now no true north, no moral compass. Whatever anyone thinks is true and right, that is what will be true and right. And it is happening right here, right now in our town. About 5 years ago some influential professor from Stellenbosch forced public schools in Stellenbosch and Somerset-West to take out the term “Christian values” in the school’s vision and mission statement. That seemingly small thing, was actually huge in the spiritual realm, a tremendous victory for the devil. It gave him and open door into our schools, a legal right to access our children’s minds and hearts. Do not be fooled.
That is why it is so extremely important that we know and believe the word of God. without it we are lost and left to our own ideas, thoughts, devices and plans and they are evil.
I had a message prepared on the more practical points of parenting God’s way. But I believe we cannot go into that without first establishing this very important point - as parents we have to protect our children, not just physically, not just educationally, but even more importantly spiritually, emotionally and mentally. And we need to choose to see that an attack on my child’s innocence is as bad as an assault on my child by a human trafficker or anything similar to that.
Our first line of defence in our homes should therefore be to create a home life that is saturated with God’s presence, holiness, power and love. This is only possible when both parents are true born-again, baptised, Holy Spirit filled Jesus followers who have a marriage built on a solid Biblical foundation, who know the word of God, who shares the word of God with each other and their children all the time, every day and teaches, encourages and admonishes their children. (I did not say perfect parents who do everything right all the time - the main thing here is foundations)
It’s not just telling Bible stories, it’s revealing the spiritual truths of each story to your child and encouraging them to remember it and apply it to their lives. It’s great to know scriptures off by heart, but we should also know what they mean and how to apply them when the enemy comes for us.
As parents, this is our royal high calling in raising royalty.
I find it so weird that I even need to say this out loud, but in a day and age where right has become wrong, and wrong has become right, it is unfortunately necessary. So here goes, when the Bible, the word of God, the mouthpiece of Jesus himself, says that something is sin, an abomination, something that leads to death - it is just that, a sin, an abomination, something that leads to spiritual death.
When the Bible says there are only male and female, there are only male and female. It has not changed. When the Bible says marriage is between a man and a woman, that is what marriage is. When the Bible says certain ways of living will lead you to not inheriting the kingdom of God, that is exactly what will happen.
When you or your child have strong feelings that are contrary to the truth of the word of God, then you need to know that there is a reason why your feelings are not in line with God’s word - something happened to you that opened your life up to a lie from the enemy. Instead of trying to excuse your sin or your child’s sin, or trying to make everyone else accept your sin, rather go to God, ask Holy Spirit why am I struggling with this? Ask for help from spiritual leaders, Christian counselors, people you can trust. DO NOT GO TO THE WORLD! They will tell you what your flesh wants to hear. Go to God and to trained people of God. Find out what the root of the problem is, expose it to the light of God and step into a process of healing.
This is not a road of judgment or condemnation, it’s a road of love and freedom. If you have experienced anything else, I am truely, deeply sorry that someone along the way did not love you through such a process with the love of Jesus. But one or two bad experiences with unwise people does not change the truth of God’s word either.
I know this is not easy. It’s in fact messy. But when we lose our main moral compass, the word of God, Jesus himself, and we squash the voice of the Holy Spirit, we are left to our own thoughts, devices and human wisdom which falls far short of the glory God has for us.
The enemy is coming for our children in a veiled, secretive way and he is using and will use people in authority that you think you can trust. People with impressive degrees and experience and accomplishments. Don’t fall for it. Always check with God first. Always be lead by the Holy Spirit. Do not be intimidated by the world and it’s flashy things. Pray, discern, stick to the truth of God’s word. And to do that you need to actually know God’s word. Jesus used it when he was tempted in the desert. How much more do we not need to follow His example.
And we need to teach our children to do this as well. We cannot monitor them 24/7 - it sucks but it’s true. We need to train them up in the way they should go so that they do not depart from it. That means that they should be saturated with scripture, with the presence of the Holy Spirit and know what the presence of God feels like so that they can discern when a place or a party or movie or website or video game or book is not for them, and they will choose to walk or run away. To flee from temptation. If we do not train them to do this, they will not do it. It’s that simple.
I am not saying we should raise them in fear either. They only need to fear God and nothing else. They need to operate with a spirit of love, power and a sound mind. To do that they need to be saved, baptised, filled with the Holy Spirit and be so in love with Jesus that they only want to please Him by doing things his way - John 14:15. But they won’t get there on their own. We need to lead them there.
We cannot rely on the public schools to do it. The government has an evil agenda to poison our children’s minds with things they are not ready to handle. That has become clear. More and more over the world the move by the enemy is gain control over children and remove authority from parents. We cannot let this happen on our watch.
We need to take the reigns we have been given by God and with His help and guidance steer our children in the right direction.
Wake up oh sleeper. Wake up!
Rise up man of God! Rise up woman of God!
It’s time to choose: either we are gatekeepers and watchmen on the wall who will fight for our children and call out sin, or we will be floor mats.
This is real.
But I have good news! Jesus has overcome it all! The same power that raised him from the grave lives in us if we are born again. We have access to weapons that are mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, ideas and arguments and we can bring every though captive under the authority of Christ Jesus. Through Jesus by the leading of HS, we can do this! And we have already won.
Isaiah 54:13-17
'All your children shall be taught by the Lord , And great shall be the peace of your children. In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you. Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake. “Behold, I have created the blacksmith Who blows the coals in the fire, Who brings forth an instrument for his work; And I have created the spoiler to destroy. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord .'
Do not fear, do not be intimidated. Stand. Put on the whole armour of God and stand. Pray. Praise and worship. OUR LIVES AND OUR CHILDREN’S LIVES ARE AT STAKE.

'“Now therefore, fear the Lord , serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord ! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord , choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord .”'
REFLECT AND RESPOND

We have access to weapons that are mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, ideas and arguments and we can bring every though captive under the authority of Christ Jesus. Through Jesus by the leading of HS, we can do this! And we have already won.
Isaiah 54:13-17
'All your children shall be taught by the Lord , And great shall be the peace of your children. In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you. Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake. “Behold, I have created the blacksmith Who blows the coals in the fire, Who brings forth an instrument for his work; And I have created the spoiler to destroy. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord .'
Do not fear, do not be intimidated. Stand. Put on the whole armour of God and stand. Pray. Praise and worship. OUR LIVES AND OUR CHILDREN’S LIVES ARE AT STAKE.
AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE:
Joshua 24:14-15
'“Now therefore, fear the Lord , serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord ! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord , choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord .”'
